Florida Individual and Group Dental Insurance

Florida Group Dental Insurance is available with as few as 4 employees. In the group size from 4-10 the most common type is prepaid dental. This coverage has a primary dentist you must go to for care. It is similar to an HMO in the Group Health Insurance market. The Primary determines you care needs and either he takes care of the problem or he refers you to a specialist. Pricing is reasonable and the care is good. The networks are sparse in some areas.

Groups from 6-49 have a wider variety of dental coverage available. The two most common are the PPO and Indemnity.

The PPO plans have a network of dentists that have pre-negotiated rates for services, so this is a good option for people who want good dental care with contained costs.

The Indemnity plan has no network of dentists. You can go to anyone. The downside is that the dentist may say the procedure is $100 and the insurance company says itıs only $75 and they pay that amount. You would be responsible to pay the additional $25 in this example.

Florida Individual Dental Insurance is available and can be a good plan for some. Pricing for individuals range from $6.95-$11.75 per month. These are really dental discount plans. Meaning that using dentist that participate in the program you can generally save 25%-45% off the price of preventative, basic, restorative, and even orthodontia.
